Frederika Ionescu is a New York City vocalist and composer currently based in British Columbia, Canada. She continues to travel through influences of multiple genres from French chanson to jazz and R&B to create her distinct sound. She has previously performed at the International Festival of Song in Granby, Quebec, the International Jazz Festival in Victoria, BC and multiple venues in Vancouver and New York, such as The Waterfront Theatre, Rockwood Music Hall and Greenpoint 42. She has most recently performed in Europe for the first time at the International Jazz Festival in Bern, Switzerland in 2025.

Ionescu continues to work as a leader in her band, varying in size from duo to quintet, which presents blends of traditional jazz, free jazz, modern R&B and has also recorded as a member of the New York-based all-women’s a capella group VICE. 

Now having completed her Master’s, she uses the influences from her previous jazz studies and the vast amount of art from her travels to compose and perform with many instruments. She plans to release her first EP in 2027.
